Designed for Coastal Living
My clients wanted a home away from home situated in beautiful downtown Florence on the Central Oregon Coast. They found it in this dated, but full of potential condo. Perfectly located within walking distance to the shops, galleries and restaurants on the Siuslaw River – it checked all the boxes.
This condo has a prime view of the Siuslaw River Bridge from the fourth floor and a good layout. The clients wanted to update everything and make it truly their own.

What we started with:
This 900 square foot, one bedroom, 2 bath condo was dark and dated .
Our remodel centered on a full demolition of the kitchen and bathrooms. New paint, flooring, and window treatments throughout set the stage for curated furnishings in a relaxed coastal style.

The Kitchen
Dark and dated, the kitchen was gutted. In its place, we designed a more functional and user-friendly cabinet plan, including a larger sink, a trash pull-out, and improved lower cabinet storage with drawers instead of deep shelves.

We started with freshly painted custom cabinets. The clients wanted a statement marble and stone backsplash grounded by the gorgeous Cambria Ironsbridge countertops and a color coordinated Blanco sink. Kholer faucets and professional grade appliances finish off the kitchen upgrades.
Pro Tip: For a clean, professional look, align your backsplash with the upper cabinets—ending at the bottom edge rather than extending beyond. This is especially important for kitchens with peninsulas, where this detail is often overlooked.

Demolition Plan
As with many condo remodels, we encountered uneven walls and ceilings, which required careful cabinet installation. While no home is perfectly plumb, this condition can be more pronounced in larger buildings as they naturally settle over time.

The Design Process
First, we drew the space to scale in sketch format. Once the basic design was approved we rendered the drawings and set out to obtain samples of every finish.
Pro Tip: Always get physical samples whenever possible. Compare all samples together. Your designer can often order samples at no cost for you.

The Design Refined
Detailed 3D renderings of the proposed remodel were developed to clearly illustrate spatial relationships, design intent, functionality, and overall aesthetic. They also served as a valuable tool for testing and refining key design elements.

Final reveal
What was once a dated and uninspired condo is now a welcoming, elevated retreat. By highlighting its strongest features—the view and the existing layout—we created a space that feels both luxurious and livable, perfect for hosting and everyday enjoyment.
Great design isn’t always about starting from scratch—it’s about recognizing potential and knowing how to bring it forward. Whether you’re considering a full renovation or simply want to explore what’s possible with a simple refresh, the right approach can transform how your home looks and feels.

Final Note About Styling and Art
The homeowner will complete the styling and art installations themselves. Adding the finishing touches, such as art on the walls and custom fabric on the dining room chairs will complete the look and bring everything to life.
When you are ready to begin, I’d love to connect and bring your vision to life!
