Introducing Marisa Hawk Interior Design

Hi there! My name is Marisa

I am a design producer and project manager for home renovation shows…

…turned Interior Designer and Project Manager for you!

Welcome to my blog and website! Let me take a moment to share how my journey into interior design and home renovations began and evolved into my passion.

My very first design project was on the inaugural episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition, which aired on ABC early 2004. At the time, I wasn’t officially part of the crew; I simply visited the set to see what my then-husband, a producer on the show, was up to.

When I arrived at the build site for filming that day, the project was behind schedule. As is common with first season shows, there was a bit of chaos, and the inaugural episode was even more so as we worked through the kinks.

That’s me in the red shirt on set!
Inspiration for the tiki outdoor entertainment area.

The show’s goal was to completely renovate homes within a set timeframe while profoundly impacting the lives of families in need. It quickly became known as the nicest reality show on television.

The producers needed hands, so I jumped in and volunteered. I was assigned to help Ty Pennington execute his special project for the episode. In those days, Ty had one special design he was responsible for in each episode. This one was a tricked out tiki bar and hot tub area. All the rage in 2003, lol!

Thus began my dual career path—interior design and home renovation within the realm of TV production.

We’d start with demolition—similar to this…

…And end up with something like this!

I was motivated by the energy and the positive impact of our work. Homes increased in value and we consistently solved problems through good design, bringing lasting solutions and joy to the lives of the families on the show.

It was a whirlwind—long hours and constant travel—but I thrived on it. We truly changed lives.

Through work on numerous design renovations since then, including four of my own homes, I have become a specialist in material sourcing, design project management, executing intricate designs, and adding those final finishing touches to create truly remarkable spaces.

By eliminating TV production from interior design and home renovation work, I now concentrate on my true passion. I love designing, problem solving and sourcing the perfect elements to create your dream home.

My goal is for you to walk through your door and love where you live.
